Hello everyone. Currently, I'm creating a list of YA books our library needs to purchase. You see, thanks to you and your generous sponsors for our first ever Read-a-Thon, we have money that we can use on such things. So, to compile a list I need information from you.
What're your top 5 favorite YA books? OR What are the last 5 YA books you've read and enjoyed.
Thanks!
I'm so behind on YA reads! I'm sure your library already has the ones I would suggest. But here they are, anyway!
ReplyDeleteSpeak- by your good friend
Jacob Have I Loved- Paterson
The Fudge Books! Tale of a 4th Grade Nothing, etc- Blume
The Book Thief-Markus Zusak
Walk Two Moons- Sharon Creech
(I like your splashy background!!!)
Are you looking forward to the third installment of The Hunger Games as much as I AM btw??? (I find that love triangle so much more interesting than the Twilight one!)
Holly, I preordered Mockingjay. It was in my PO box on Tuesday, but I was out of town. But I have it now and I'm almost done. It's soooooooo good. :) Thanks for the lists!
ReplyDeleteI suggest these: http://www.ala.org/ala/mgrps/divs/yalsa/booklistsawards/bestbooksya/topten2010.cfm
ReplyDeleteI had to skip over all the ones I've read that were from the library, but here are the five most recent ones I've read and really liked:
ReplyDelete1. Born to Rock by Gordon Korman
2. The Borrowers by Mary Norton
3. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terri Pratchett
4. Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi
5. The Demon's Lexicon by Sarah Rees Brennan
I especially liked The Demon's Lexicon, which is actually part of a series. Which I....haven't finished yet. Surprise Surprise. =D
I like your new look, since I read you in Google reader might not be new. I haven't read any YA books in a while but keep hearing about The Hunger Games so maybe I will give that one a try. Hope things are going well with your rewrites. I'm still on draft 1 :)
ReplyDeleteJulia, yes, Hunger Games rocks! Catching Fire, which I just blogged, is the sequel and Mockingjay the third one, just came out this week. It's amazing! You should read them if you haven't.
ReplyDeleteProphecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zinc is good, and the sequel has just come out - Gardian of the Gate. There will be a third too.
ReplyDeleteThe Darkest Powers series by Kelley Armstrong is great too.
