Embrace--By Cherie Colyer

Hello again all. Here we are with another blog tour posting. This time it's EMBRACE by Cherie Colyer. Below is an excerpt from the novel. Enjoy!!  Check here for the list of other blogs on the tour.

Excerpt:
He had a large mix of alternative and rap music, and mostly male singers, so when I hit a country cd with a blonde on the cover I held it up.
“Taylor Swift?” I asked.
“What?” A red flush crept into his cheeks. “I had a crush on her.”
I looked at the cover. Maybe that was his secret. Maybe he was into blondes. What if I was an experiment to see if they really did have more fun? My dark chestnut hair was about as far from Goldilocks as it could get.
He reached for the cd, but I raised my arm over my head before he could grab it.
“I was young,” he said, lunging forward and missing my hand.
“And you’re so old and wise now,” I teased, moving the cd behind my back.
He grabbed for it, his body practically on top of mine as he tried to catch my hand. I leaned back, laughing.
“Maybe we should play it,” I said, squirming to keep him from being able to reach it.
He wrapped an arm around my back, pulling me closer. “Let’s not.”
We were a jumbled mass of arms and legs. His belt buckle rubbed the bare skin of my stomach, and his neck was in perfect kissing distance. My gaze traveled to his lips. His close proximity had me forgetting I was winning the game of keep-away until he snatched the case from me.
We both laughed as we disentangled ourselves. He tossed Taylor Swift over his shoulder, and the cd conveniently landed on the bed.
“You can tell me the truth.” I went back to his collection, hoping to find something else incriminating. “You’re a little bit country.”
He gave me a sidelong look that said, Puh-lease.

Kicking Off a New Season with XOXOXO

Hello all! It's been nearly a year since I updated this blog, so I've decided to try something new yet again. I've signed up to do a blog tour. I'm new at this, so forgive me if I screw things up a bit. The book is called XOXOXO by Bethany Lopez.

This playlist was chosen because it shows the arc of the story. The story starts with Melissa still feeling sad about Brian, and then goes into some emotional issues with her family. She has wonderful experiences with her friends, and starts to believe in the possibility of love again. It ends with happiness, hope, and possibility. All of the songs are relevant to the story and the feelings I had while writing it.
Fix You by Coldplay

Set Fire To the Rain by Adele

Teaser Tuesday #3--Rage

It's teaser Tuesday again.  Today, I'm highlighting RAGE by Jackie Morse Kessler.

Here is how Teaser Tuesday works:
- Grab your current read.
- Open to a random page.
-In the comment section, share a few “teaser” sentences (maybe a short paragraph) from somewhere on that page BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (That means, make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Remember to show the title & author, too, so that others can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

The Story:  (From the back cover.)
Missy didn't mean to cut so deep.  But after the party where she was humiliated in front of practically everyone in school, who could blame her for wanting some comfort? Sure, most people don't find comfort in the touch of a razorblade, but Missy always was...different.

That's why she was chosen to become one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: War.  Now Missy wields a new kind of blade--a big, brutal sword that can cut down anyone and anything in her path. But it's with this weapon in her hand that Missy learns something that could help her triumph over her own pain: control.

The Teaser:
"Be seeing you," Adam said.

Not if she could help it.  Missy fled down the hall, her ears ringing with the Matts' laughter, her stupid body reminding her just how much she missed being with Adam.  And that slowly turned to panic. The familiar feeling of suffocation leeched its way through her, making each breath torture, and her heart screamed behind the prison of her ribs.

She thought desperately of her lockbox, tucked safely away in her closet.

Not again, she told herself. Not again.

Whether she meant Adam or her razorblade, Missy couldn't say.

Your turn! Grab your nearest novel and give us a teaser.
